Tubes

So after way too many ear infections and two trips to the ENT, we went ahead and got tubes for Reid's ears. The doc equated the fluid he kept in his ears to hearing with earplugs so I knew we had to do something. We were able to get a cancellation appointment the very next day, which was probably the GREATEST blessing to me b/c us nurse's are the WORST patients and even WORSE if the patient is our baby!! ; ) All of the nurses loved on him and called him the "pajama boy" b/c I took him in his Christmas pjs, which as you can see from the pics, are just too cute! He did very good with the anesthesia and slugged two whole bottles when he woke up! It has been so interesting these past couple of days b/c my little man is like a new baby! He startles more easily (probably b/c he can actually hear now) and doesn't scream as loud!! I guess he doesn't have to amplify if he can hear himself on a lower cord (sp?)! ; ) These tubes are meant to fall out in about a year so at that point we'll see if they really helped and if we want to get new ones. He can still swim/bathe, etc. without earplugs so hopefully they'll work quite nicely and we can stay out of the ped's office and away from several rounds of abx!!!
